IKARA Yoga is the first and only Traditional Ashtanga Yoga Studio / Retreat with an authorized teacher by Sharath Yoga Center (SYC) located in the beautiful and unspoiled island of Lombok Indonesia.
The word “Ikara” means “transmission of energy and knowledge” in Quechua, the indigenous language of Peru. Our aim is to provide solid foundations to take your practice to the next level by working in small groups and with individual guidance.
Marilu Casalino, experienced bilingual (Spanish / English) Yoga teacher and founder of IKARA Yoga, is opening her Ashtanga Yoga Studio / Retreat to teach all students. She will ensure that each practitioner progresses at their own rhythm, assisting them to go deeper and to understand the purpose of their Yoga practice. The sequence would be adjusted according to each individual need.
She will focus on the Traditional Ashtanga Yoga method taught by Marilu´s teacher Sharath Jois, grandson of the legendary Shri K. Pattabhi Jois (Guruji) at the Sharath Yoga Centre in Mysore, India.
We offer: Ashtanga yoga, Restorative yoga, Yoga for Surfers, Mat Pilates, Meditation, Pranayama, Chanting, Special events, like Cacao Ceremony, Ecstatic Dance, Restorative & Sound bath and Tea Ceremony. Week Retreats and Immersions including surf lessons. Please check our schedules and programs.
Practitioners of all levels are welcome to enjoy the benefits of this traditional method and to be part of our Yoga community.
